Overview of the role
Following a period of significant growth and development of our programmes, GOAL has conducted a review of key structures and policies, including those related to governance, finance, logistics (specifically procurement) and internal audit. An Action Plan has been developed which includes key changes and enhancements required to improve GOAL’s systems in preparation for future growth, coupled with changes in the development and aid landscape. GOAL is seeking an experienced Project Manager to ensure delivery of these objectives within the required timeframe. The Project Manager will lead a team of Senior Managers to ensure the successful deployment of an enterprise-wide transformation project focusing on core capabilities, practices and systems across GOAL’s Global Landscape. This is a key role within the organisation which will involve liaising with key stakeholders at all levels, influencing and driving organisational change.
Main responsibilities
· Work within a structured project governance framework to create robust project plans, resource plans, financial estimates and key milestones for the overall project.
· Manage the project on a day-today basis to ensure that project and work stream management procedures are adhered to within a formal governance structure and delivery framework.
· Develop, maintain and own a framework of delivery processes and tools to optimise management and reporting of the project.
· Support the running of the Steering Committee and the GOAL Board through the provision of accurate and timely project reporting.
· Design and deliver regular progress updates and reports in response to the requirements of GOAL’s multiple stakeholders.
· Drive forward multiple project works-streams concurrently, ensuring all projects meet agreed quality, cost and timescale commitments.
· Manage and direct a team of Senior Managers responsible for the cross-functional project work streams to support delivery as per plan and scope.
· Identify and manage dependencies, risks and issues, which may affect the successful delivery of the project.
· Act as the point of escalation for the overall project and individual work streams to the project Steering Committee and the GOAL Board, actively highlighting areas of concern.
· Manage key project stakeholder relationships to ensure understanding, engagement and support across all functional areas within GOAL.
· Ensure all changes are embedded across the organisation to enable successful rollout and adoption across all GOAL’s global locations.
Requirements
Essential
· Experience directing the delivery of complex transformation projects within global organisations.
· Experience leading, running and setting the vision for multiple, cross-functional work stream teams.
· Knowledge and experience of delivering projects or programmes using recognised project management methodologies.
· Experience working with senior managers and Board members.
Desirable
· Practical experience of project management methodologies (such as Prince II, PMP, MSP).
· Experience in the not-for-profit or public sectors.
· Background in Finance, Internal Audit or Procurement.
