TASKS
Whilst in Concern headquarters for two week induction
• To develop understanding of Concern’s current tools to support working with local partners in both development and humanitarian contexts.
• To develop a good understanding of Concern’s values and ways of working Whilst deployed to Concern Malawi for 12 months
• To develop a strong understanding of the field level context for working with local NGO partners in Concern's areas of operation.
• To understand the design of Concern's programming in Malawi and to help identify how working with local NGO partners can be a stronger part of this.
• To review Partnership Assessment tools and help revise these for Concern Malawi, including developing a minimum set of standards for entering into a partnership with local NGOs.
• To help develop, test and implement tools for capacity building work with local NGO partners in Malawi.
• To support monitoring and evaluation of partner capacity building and ensure consistent application of appropriate tools in the field.
• To help develop tools for collaboration and coordination with other funding agencies on joint partner capacity building.
• To deliver awareness and training sessions to relevant staff and partners on partnership principles, approaches and tools.
• To support the Programmes Director and other managers as appropriate in the analysis of other forms of local partnership (not for profit, Government or commercial companies).
• To document our experiences with the introduction of new approaches to partnership in Malawi.
• To contribute to briefings, reports and presentations as required.
• To support the production of relevant programme, advocacy and communication materials.
• To design an EU Aid Volunteer communication project plan for implementation throughout the course of the apprenticeship and deployment period.
Key performance indicators
• Material for awareness and training sessions on partnership.
• Tools for designing, implementing and monitoring our partner capacity building work in Malawi.
• Reports documenting our experiences with the introduction of new approaches to partnership in Malawi.
• Briefings, reports and presentations as agreed with line manager.
• Demonstrate behaviours in line with the EU Aid Volunteer competency framework and Concern’s values.
