Ireland: Logistics Systems Project Manager

Job location: Dublin (with regular overseas field support visits)

Pay Band: Grade 5 (€45,563 - €53,603)

Contract: 2 year fixed term contract

Background:

Concern will be commencing a global automation project of its transport and logistics systems across all countries of operation. The focus of this project is to bring greater efficiency and more effective reporting and monitoring capability. It will also ensure the highest level of system compliance.

Job Purpose:

The Logistics Systems Project Manager will develop and implement a global automation projects across the majority of Concern countries of operation. This will include the introduction of an automated fleet management reporting system, an automated assets management system and the eventual automation of Concern’s supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

· Use technology already existing in other functions with-in the organisation to test and roll out globally an automated fleet management reporting system

· Review available options for an automated asset management system which will be standardised to Concern’s working context and rolled out to all overseas programmes

· Carry out a full options appraisal with recommended implementation plan for automation of Concern’s supply chain – from requisition to distribution levels

· Facilitate requirements gathering and needs assessment workshops with staff to understand project scope prior to approval

· Translate functional requirements into technical specifications in collaboration with technical staff, producing clear documentation

  • Create work plans using realistic effort estimates and milestones, deadlines etc.
  • Prepare materials and present to the Supply and Logistics Unit and occasionally Senior Management Team at key stages of high priority projects e.g. seeking funding, approval to begin, mid-point review, impact review.
  • Liaise with 3rd Party service providers and vendors as required, defining contracts, managing quality of deliverables, managing license life-cycle etc.
  • Invoke escalation procedures in a prompt and timely manner to ensure project timelines and budgets are maintained.
  • Implement Change Control processes for post-deployment management of systems and work with system owner to schedule future change phases

· Put in place an improved system for logistics information management and file sharing

· Produce materials to support new systems e.g. user handbooks, technical guides etc.

· Deliver staff training as required. This may include developing technical manuals, user guides, video or eLearning materials and/or delivering classroom training.

· Ensure logistics support staff have necessary guidelines to support systems beyond rollout and update all materials following upgrade or system changes.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

· At least degree level qualification in Supply Chain Management related discipline

· Supply chain management background

· Experience using ERP or similar supply chain management systems

· Proven project management skills

· 3+ years of experience working in project management

· Proactive problem solver with excellent people and communications skills

· Proven track record in delivering projects on time and with-in budget

· Analysis skills in process workflow design and documentation

· Ability and desire to travel overseas for extended periods to provide ‘on the ground’ support

Desirable:

· Experience rolling out enterprise grade business applications

· Previous experience in change management activities

· Client and vendor relationship management experience

· French as second language
