Sightsavers Ireland is recruiting for a professional and efficient Governance and Administration Executive to support our CEO, Company Secretary and Senior Management Team.
About the role
You will support them to systematically track and progress their portfolio of work responsibilities as it relates to (but not limited to) governance, compliance, administration and office management. You will proactively identify matters requiring your attention ensuring these are dealt with in a timely manner, including following up with staff and others to ensure Sightsavers Ireland is meeting its commitments and obligations to relevant statutory authorities and other stakeholders such as suppliers.
This is a pivotal role and will involve:
- Taking responsibility for and managing core administrative processes underpinning effective governance
- Providing support to governance meetings including the AGM
- Managing and administering Board Membership requirements
- Participating in and supporting the Governance Review
- Supporting the monitoring and evaluating of governance systems, implementing changes where needed that are compliant with legal, regulatory and constitutional requirements – facilitating all necessary actions
- Ensuring all filings/ returns and annual compliance requirements are completed in a timely manner
- Maintaining the risk register and ensuring compliance with various Codes of Practice
- Providing support and guidance on data protection
- Acting as designated Safeguarding Lead and key point of contract for other specialist teams
- Managing relationships with suppliers including overseeing the payment of office invoices and direct debits
About you
We are looking for an individual with solid experience of working as an Executive at a senior level. Skills in diplomacy and the ability to build and maintain good working relationships are essential. You will be highly organised and skilled at managing an administrative workload in a busy office environment.
You will have:
- A relevant degree-level qualification or equivalent business experience in the management, operations and governance of an organisation
- Significant and proven experience in business administration, planning, compliance and risk management
- Sound judgment on technical and operational matters with the ability to oversee and manage compliance in line with legislative and statutory requirements
- Experience of building and developing strong working relationships with Board, management team and key providers
