This is a new role within Christian Aid Ireland and is a fantastic opportunity for a senior funding specialist to grow the institutional funding for our international Programme Strategy, which focuses on human rights and governance, peacebuilding, gender equality and women’s empowerment, humanitarian response and resilience. The post holder must have an excellent track record in diversifying and growing institutional funding, particularly from the EU/ ECHO, European Governments and the UN. Christian Aid Ireland is the global lead for Christian Aid's strategic thematic area of From Violence to Peace and this role will support programme development and funding growth in this area, along with other areas in our strategic focus. The post holder will map potential funding opportunities, develop successful bids and support specified country programmes to ensure strong contract management from institutional donors. He/she will also work closely with specific country programmes to initiate new donor engagements and sustain relationships with current institutional donors, and to coordinate development of funding applications, ensuring strong contract management and compliance with donors’ and Christian Aid Ireland’s regulations.

The role will support Christian Aid Ireland’s Leadership Team, technical advisors and Country Managers to represent the organisation to donors, including the EU, UN and European Government Development Ministries, and other external stakeholders, and will improve Christian Aid Ireland’s in-country visibility. The role will participate in and/or lead project teams within Christian Aid Ireland and work closely with Christian Aid global funding teams and functions.

The role is fixed term for 3 years and the salary is €54,250 per annum. The post may be based in Dublin or elsewhere in Ireland/UK depending on the successful applicant.
